After doing a LOT of research on electric bikes, I decided to purchase one from Practical Cycle in Folsom. I have to say, my experience at this shop was FANTASTIC! Tim was available to me right away, and brought the bike that I was interested out immediately. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions that I had. One bonus is that this bike shop is located at the entryway to the Folsom bike path, so I could take the bike out for a test ride safely, experience both straightaways and hills, and go for as long as I needed. SO FUN! Then, Tim went out of his way to make specific modifications (upgrades) to the bike that I wanted, even though it was at the end of the business day. AND, as if that wasn't enough, he actually DELIVERED the bike to me at no extra charge, working with me on a complex errand schedule. Now that I'm home, I just took the bike for a test ride on local roads here in the foothills of Nevada City - HILLS being the operative word. I was able to ride all the way from one end of town, into the neighboring town of Grass Valley, and home again, and the charge/bar indicator is still full! With the steep terrain here, my main concern was whether the Pedego Platinum Interceptor would have enough power & range to get me all around my area, and it did so with absolutely no problem. I tend to be a conservative rider, using all my gears and keeping the assist level fairly low at an average of "2". I still got a pretty good workout, but it was at my own pace, at a healthy level, on my own terms. Thanks so much to all the staff at Practical Cycle.
