SELLS FAULTY PARTS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

DO NOT buy an engine block from this company. They sold us 2, that's TWO bad engine blocks. Rock Auto admitted to the poor state of the first block and replaced with the second that failed after only 4000 miles. Their only offer was to replace with another THIRD engine which we declined. WHO in their right mind would want to chance that?? We sent them certified mail which they never replied to directly. Their only communication was online through our complaint to the Better Business Bureau. WEAK CUSTOMER SERVICE. Furthermore, Rock Auto DOES NOT back their products. These engines apparently came from one of their manufacturers, ATK and instead of refunding our money as requested, they shifted all blaim to ATK. We provided proof of statements and invoices from certified mechanics indicating the poor, faulty condition of both engines. Rock Auto claims that "an ATK technician provided pictures showing non-manufacturer issues" but never provided copies of these "pictures" to us when requested. POOR PRODUCTS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't lose money like we did by buying anything from this company. #rockauto_partsarebad

On 10/29/16, this customer ordered a Famous Brand long block, part number VFY2. This part carries a 3 year warranty, as shown on our warranties page (http://www.rockauto.com/docs/warranty). On 11/4/16, he visited our Order Status and Returns page to submit a warranty claim for this part. He returned the part for inspection, and his claim was approved by the manufacturer. His replacement shipped on 11/10/16, and was delivered shortly thereafter. On 7/15/17, he returned to our Order Status and Returns page to file a warranty claim for the replacement part. On 8/8/17, we learned that Famous Brand denied his warranty claim. After completing a thorough inspection of the returned unit, Famous Brand was unable to identify any defects in materials, nor workmanship. Instead, their inspection found sludge built up in the long block, indicating improper maintenance rather than a factory defect. Like other retailers of branded products, RockAuto honors the warranty provided by the manufacturers of the products we sell. We honored the manufacturer's decision, and did not offer a third replacement.
