They left a $@!#% jug
We had Home Comfort Experts come to our house on Friday, 1/21/22 to see about replacing our air conditioning unit and furnace. Long story short - we were quoted over $16,000 for the service by Bruce Johnson. It's an older house. A lot of work needed done & we acknowledge that. The price seemed a bit high, but the company had an excellent reputation and we felt comfortable using them.
The a/c unit and furnace were installed on Tuesday, 1/25/22 by Dustin Cobb and his assistant, (I believe his name was Tanner). They arrived around 9am and finished just after 9pm. The seemed professional and (I hope) did a good job.
On Wednesday (1/26/22 - the morning after the installation), Bruce Johnson began contacting my wife and reported that we owed an additional $280 for the removal of the old furnace and a/c unit. This is after we already spent over $16,000 on their services. He added the amount to our loan. Now we are paying an additional $280 plus whatever interest that will amount to on top of the already agreed on price.
We've also not yet been sent a copy of our agreement to pay for the service.
Today (1/27/22), I went back to the work area for a closer look at what had been done. I'll admit - I don't know much about furnaces and such. Dustin explained the system before he left on 1/25/22. Looking around the work area, I found a gallon jug that I had left downstairs that once had water in it, now filled with $@!#%. I don't $@!#% in a jug in my basement. Neither does my wife. The jug was emptied of water by either Dustin or Tanner at some point & they used it to $@!#% in. And they left the $@!#% jug in our house. Their $@!#% jug is in our house. The pictures of said $@!#% jug are included.
It was a long day. I have a bathroom. I also live in the country. They could have $@!#% outside. Instead - they $@!#% in a jug and left it in my basement.
Yesterday (1/26/22) I called Home Comfort Experts and talked to Paul at approximately 10am. He told me that the people I needed to talk to were in meetings, but they would call me back to address the issue.
It is currently approximately 7:30 pm on 2/27/22. I have not heard back from anyone. Well over 24 hours. If technicians will leave a $@!#% jug in your house, it makes me question the whole operation - plus the salesman demanding an additional $280 after over $16,000 already spent. I should have suspected something when the salesman bragged about making an old woman in South Bend remortgage her house so that he could get paid for installing her furnace. I know better now.
Home Comfort Experts prides themselves on drug testing their technicians. If anyone would like to check them on that, I have a jug of $@!#% from their technicians. Please feel free to contact me.
This behavior makes me question the whole operation. I gave them over 24 hours to address my concern. They did not. I frankly don't know if I want these people back in my house to render the rest of the services that are due.
They left a $@!#% jug in my house and tacked on an additional $280 after $16,000 of services rendered.
What would you think? I know exactly what I think.
