HVAC Install
I just had Modern Mechanic, now One Hour Heating & Air, come out and look at my system. Initially, I asked them to come provide a quote on a new system as I felt ours had run its course.
Throughout the discussion, the tech was very thorough and did an inspection, ran tests and came back with a couple of options that would keep our system operational, albeit most likely for a short period of time. Keep in mind, this inspection was at no cost whereas most companies would have charged me a $99 dispatch fee just to come to the door.
After George's findings, the best option seemed to be to replace the system as a whole rather than keep putting bandaids on it to get us through another 3-6-9 months so we bit the bullet and signed the contract.
They were able to install the system next day (good thing because the heat index was going to be 110%+ that weekend)! The installation crew was very polite and knocked the job out over a very hot 10 hour period.
I went with another Lennox system against probably my better judgement based on some of their poor reviews from the 2015/2016 time period but the techs informed me that they have gone from a copper condensor to a aluminum condensor so it shouldn't be a concern for the newer units. The 10 year labor, 2 year parts warranty also made me a little more optomistic.
Let's hope I don't have to call them for 10+ years for an HVAC concern......
