Get more bids, extremely overpriced!!
In July of 2024, I hired an electrician to run a line and outlet for a new dishwasher in a 20 year old home. He seemed to struggle with the requested job despite an unfinished basement, short distance and ease of access. He took the option to hard-wire the dishwasher instead of running a line with a GFI outlet. Additionally; as he moved the dishwasher, he disrupted the attatched front panel resulting in a crooked door panel - which will now result in additional expense for repair. He nearly ran out the door less than one hour and $738.00 later.
I regret not seeking another bid! I assumed bids would be standard - yep, made an $@!#% of all persons involved by assuming! I won't make that mistake again. We work in health care and we're not handy, so we tend to need to hire professional for various services we're not comfortable with. We will NEVER consider this company again!
Do your homework!!
$738.00 was an outrageous cost, no supplies were necessary and time was under one hour. Additionally, I was NOT given an estimate prior to work. Yes! My mistake! I was anxious to have a funtional installed dishwasher. But, what extremely poor service and a rip off method!.
To compare: I just had a bid (elsewhere of course) to run a new 240 line with a GFI circuit breaker across the basement ceiling and outside the foundation for connection to rear roofing heat tape; as well as, connecting an existing 240 line to replaced front roofing heat tape. That bid is $400.00 - for a MUCH larger job, including supplies and labor. BONUS! The electrician for the bid was extremely professional and personable.
I was disappointed at the time of service from Mountain Home Service and I'm even more so now!
