Just was really irked
I normally dont bother with these surveys and such, but this place has me really irked. Its a long statement, but I have to share my experience with them.
First of all, if anyone at this place actually reads this, and really cares, get rid of those awful red chairs. People struggle to get out of them, as did the older gentleman did today. It was so bad, I was getting up to help him when he finally was able to get himself out. I was really worried he was going to hurt himself. He ended up sitting in that more normal chair by the desk.
The good things I have to state, the paint job matches very well, and I like the online check in on the repair stages.
But,
I should have driven away when the assessment was done outside, in bright daylight. The glare wouldnt allow for proper picture taking of the damages and I had to supply better photos. There is a nice car port kind of area, but was occupied by a Cadillac, where this process would have been more efficient.
The repairs took 7 working days, which only having a cracked headlight cover, scratches/small dent on the hood, scratches the roof, and some down the side of the car, was a little long.
When I picked my car up, the car port was empty. The car was driven around to the front of the building, and I think they thought I was just going to get in it and drive off. I did my best to look over the repairs, but that FL fun sun was glaring. I noted they didnt replace the front passenger glass that was scratched. There was what at first appeared to be additional scratches on the car, but turns out was some kind of glue substance. They ordered the side glass then took it back to remove the glue like stuff I pointed out (Later I found a lot more in random areas). I wanted to do a better look over while there, that car port would have worked out great, but I have a Ford Fusion, and now after waiting for cleaning I have to get back to work. So now, the counter person, drives my car around, parks out in front the door again, gets out and makes a statement about it being so hot in my car, their eyes fogged over.
When driving back to work, I notice one of my air vents is now broken (which Im 100% certain wasnt before repairs), the AC is not working, which can be a one of those things, but come on its a 2012. Also when I finally get home and can really look at it I notice my other headlight cover is now sporting 2 cracks. Now a flying piece of plywood hit the front of my car while on I-4. I knew every spot that was damaged, and having one cracked headlight cover of course I looked at the other. Even the guy that did the initial assessment looked at the other one. If it would have been cracked prior to repairs, he would have asked if it was pre existing as he did with other items. Also there is a huge paint dimple on the hood right before the windshield, which reminds me, this place will just paint over love bug dimples, paint nicks, etc. They did warn me of this, and to make it a smooth paint job was another $200 or so out of pocket. This paint dimple is the size of a nickel. Hey maybe we would of noticed that in that car port.
The next day I called them to tell them what I found, well bring it by and we will take a look. Okay, so Friday I was to get the side window replaced.
I bring the car back to them for the side window, this time a BMW was already parked in the car port. They ask me about the other issues, he looks at the front headlight first, exact words spoken to me, oh, thats from a rock. Then when he said, what do you claim is wrong with an air vent, at that point it sunk in I was being lied to, there wasnt any intent to repair outside of what they could bill the insurance, so I just stated, just replace the side window.
There were literally pieces of wood stuck in the broken headlight cover from the plywood. So for him to say it were a rock that cracked my other and no pieces of rock sticking in it, well how can you very specifically state as such?
Then to really top things off, the owners came to get their BMW in the car port, in a Mercedes SUV, and were personally shown the repairs. Okay good for them, they have a BMW and a Mercedes SUV. Im just a working bloke with a Fusion. Could I of said, hey I want to view my car in the car port as well? Yes, but thats the point, I shouldnt have had to. This is the feeling you get, BMW or similar, car port, Fusion, just get in your car and go away.
