Beware of Sticky Fingers and Terrible Customer Service !!
You never think it’s going to happen to you, but then it does. You hire a company (A-Ok Chem Dry in Algonquin) to clean your carpet and a employee steals from you. What’s worst is after the employee steals from you, the company is unsympathetic to the violation, time or inconvenience of the matter.
I had A-Ok Chem Dry out a 1/6/16 to my home, 2 employees showed up. I immediately realized that a speaker was missing from my home that night. I contacted the supervisor that was there and told him of my findings. I was told he needed to contact the office, the owner Tim was out of town. I contacted the Huntley Police Dept.
Long story short, I called the office the next morning and spoke to the office manager. She said she was aware, and needed to wait and go thru the channels of the police investigating the matter. They could not believe the employee would do such a thing……
I kept following up with the police as well as the office manager. I asked A- OK what they were going to do and they said they needed to wait for the investigating to end.. After awhile I decided to purchase another speaker, I did not have the serial number and it was looking as though the speaker would not be found.
I had made several attempts to get the serial number where I had purchased it. I was not able to find the serial number, even though I had taken out a extended warranty, I needed the original box.
Right around the 2oth of the month, I received a call from the Detective and he told me he was able to retrieve my speaker FROM THE EMPLOYEE.
I called the office manager, (the owner Tim never called me even though I asked to speak to him) and informed her of the final outcome. I asked her what they were going to do, and told her I had the expense of purchasing another speaker. She said she would need to get back to me. Thurs, no call, Friday, no call, Saturday, no call, Finally Monday I called her and she said the decision was made that since the police was able to retrieve my speaker, they would not be reimbursing me anything, it was my decision to purchase another one. I asked her if it was my work computer, should I also of waited to see the outcome and not purchase another.
There is something to say about ones time and inconvenience. It was their employee that stole from me. I also believe if the Detective was not able to retrieve my property, the outcome would have been the same, no compensation for my property, time or inconvenience. Terrible company……………….
