Worst vet experience ever. I brought my elderly dog in because she was clearly in pain/discomfort. I was very clear about her symptoms and what we were there for- get her stable with pain management to figure out what all was going on. I anticipated a wait- but not hours in an empty waiting room while my girl was losing her mind. Almost 4 hours before we were taken to a room… when the doctor came in she never even observed or examined her patient. She immediately said pyometra and emergency surgery because of my dogs age and being intact. When I tried to talk to her about what had been going on that day, she got defensive and told me that she was the only doctor there and she had other critical patients to care for. How can anyone perform emergency surgery on a dog in distress when they are solo and clearly frazzled from it? I asked for help with pain and a script of the strongest antibiotics available to get us to Monday when she could be examined by a Veterinarian that has time to see her. Luckily my girl made it through the weekend, saw her regular Vet on Monday and has been on the mend from and eye infection and what I believe was a painful UTI. They charged $220 for an emergency exam that was never done… $180 for the meds I had to ask for. Emergency surgery in her state could have easily killed her… especially with an already overwhelmed surgeon. They just do not care about their patients. I will be writing to the state licensing board and the BBB. The doctors name was Bronwyn Turner - she needs a mentor to show her how to effectively communicate with humans. If she had actually taken the time to examine my dog and ask questions- she could have been helpful. I hope that this place is shut down before they hurt too many more.
