About two weeks ago (3/14/2012) I called Mr. Kuhn to get a second estimate on how much it5 would cost to replace my 21 year old air/heat unit. I can't thank this man enough for being such an honest person. Let me explain. Before I called Mr Kuhn I had another company come out and diagnose why my air conditioner wasn't working. He looked at it for about 20 min and described a number of problems that would require extensive repairs just to get it up and running with no guarantees that it would run very long. He emphasized that it was 21 years old and was about worn out. I didn't want to invest the $1,585 he said it would cost to repair it so decided to look into buying a new air/heating unit. So this same company sends another man out to sell me a new unit that I was fully prepared to buy. He tells me that to replace both the air and heat units would cost $9,550 but says if I purchase both of them at the same time it would only cost $8,550.

The was ready to have them put in a new unit but at the last second I decided get a second opinion. I ended up calling a Mr. Kuhn on the basis of some outstanding reviews he received on another web site. When Mr Kuhn arrived the first thing I said was, "I'm interested in getting a price on a new air/heating unit...mine is 21 years old and about worn out." Unbelievably, he said, "Before we start talking about buying a new unit, let's see what's wrong with the one you have." I'm willing to bet that in the same situation 99 out of 100 air conditioning people would have immediately started talking about the cost of a new unit...Mr Kuhn was the 1 out of 100 who insisted on making sure the unit I had needed replacement! I find that extraordinary.

So Mr Kuhn looks at my air conditioner, tells me what's wrong, fixes it and within 45 min my air conditioner is working better than it has in a couple years. He charged me $215! I felt like I'd won the lottery.

Except that he is an exceptionally honest & competent person there was no reason for him not to sell me a new unit. He essentially talked me out of it. I was so impressed that I started emailing all my friends to let them know about Mr Kuhn.

Obviously, the unit is 21 years old and could break down tomorrow but that's not the point. The point is that Mr Kuhn proved to be an exceptionally honest person and you can't put a price on that. He also happened to be exceptionally competent in working with heat and air units. I just can't say enough good things about Mr Kuhn!!
