Poor communication. Poor wood product. Poor craftsmanship. We had a deck reskinned and new railings installed in November of 2023. Very demanding to get remaining balance prior to walk through. Do walkthrough make payment. All was great until it wasn’t. The snow melted revealing the poor quality wood. A vast majority of boards were cracked and peeling up. I contacted Montell to let them know I was not happy with the quality of the wood. I was told someone would get a hold of me. Two days later I got a call. A representative came out to look at the wood. Agreed it was not good. They took photos and made some calls. They said they had what they needed and someone would call to set up a time to come and replace the bad boards. No calls no heads up. A crew showed up unannounced replaced boards and left. That has been the end of it. Montell never reached out to us to see if everything was correct. It is not. I am disappointed in myself for choosing Montell. I now have the pleasure to look at a subpar deck for the foreseeable future. I would have given a single star but the deck hasn’t fallen over yet. Most likely because it was a reskin and not a full rebuild. I will definitely not recommend.
