
Poor scheduling and poor communication
Bendele has good product, but that can be obtained in many places. They hire independent contractors to install the carpet and they were professional, helpful. and considerate. The in-store staff is a different story. While the salesperson was very pleasant before the sale, when questions arose, he became condescending, patronizing, and generally unhelpful. The schedule had been set for 6 weeks and confirmed 2 weeks prior to installation. However, when the job was half done, the schedule was changed with no notification. While schedules are not carved in stone and things come up, there should have been a phone call that instead of the 5 days scheduled, it was going to be nearly 3 weeks before the job was finished. There was none. The owner was emailed and telephoned, but did not respond to either. The salesperson and the person who answered the phone were both told that I wanted to speak to the owner before paying the balance. No response from the owner, but the credit card was charged for the balance, again without notification that was being done. All the office staff and salesperson provided were excuses and “I’m sorry, but….”
If you are looking for dependable service and communication from the company, look elsewhere. Bendele’s wants your business before the purchase, but their follow-up is not reliable. Customer service is a concept they do not grasp.
