So the other day I brought my dog in to the Paramus location as my dog was vomiting constantly and was not acting right. The only reason I went here as they are the only place that is open late and can handle emergencies. After I dropped my dog off they evaluated her and told me she had an obstruction in her intestines and that she needed immeadiate surgery or she would die from the obstruction. So they started giving me prices and after the emergency visit, check up, and X-rays I was already at $750 no they said the surgery would be $12000 at the low end but could be more. They offered no payment plans or help of any kind other then Carecredit and some other loan shark company neither of these companies were helpful as 1 offered a $3600 loan and the other a $250 loan.... What gives where is the compassion for those in need and saving a life???? I would have no issue paying the surgery just needed some time for my quarterly checks to come in. Not a single ounce of care.... Only thing they saw was dollar signs for them. Luckily I have good friends who helped me where Oradel would not. With the Combination of the Rutherford Animal Shelter and the Carlsdat Hospital they were able to do the Surgery for $2400.00. Those folks saved my dogs life where as Oradell was a complete failure and let down. Now that this is over with I ask the question Why is it I got the Surgery done for $2400.00 but yet Oradell was trying to get more then $12000 for it. What is wrong here??? Obviously there is a huge issue in price difference. You all need to re- evaluate yourselves and get back to reality and show some care and compassion to those in need. As a Firefighter/ EMT I don’t see dollar signs when someone is in trouble all I see is someone in need and I help them no questions asked. last I checked hospitals can’t refuse a patient who can’t pay so why is it different for animal shelters. If we have to care for these animals then these animal hospitals should be able to help us help them. I’m sure you all will delete this because you don’t want the bad publicity but that’s ok at least you read this and so will the news channels and newspapers.
