I called Action because one of the two springs on the garage door was broken, I had a coupon for $55 off the service, and they claim to have a Free estimate. The technician came out and recommended replacing both springs, but I only wanted to replace one since the other spring was not broken. Miraculously, when he was taking the door apart the second spring broke. The tech claimed he called his "boss" and told him we declined replacing the non-broken spring, but since it broke while he was taking it apart, Action agreed to give a 50% discount on the second spring. Then, the tech advised to replace 3 bearings that normally cost $21 each, but he would sell them to us for $13 each. I agreed to this service. When the springs and bearings were complete, he brought the bill to my wife with a $35 service charge, $189 for installation and the remaining for parts. When my wife asked him about the $55 coupon that we told him we had when he arrived, Acton refused to honor it claiming that we already received more than $55 in discounts..."discounts" that we accepted because the second spring broke when they were replacing the spring that was actually broken. They also refused to remove the $35 service fee, even though their website claims they have "Free" estimates and we paid for installation. Also, Action said they were required to perform a free "safety inspection" after the work was completed, then they claim that it actually costs $59 and that was being provided as a discount. More reason for them to not honor their $55 off service coupon.
Bottom line, this company is not honest and is deceptive. These are not qualities that a company who comes into your home should possess. I will not us them again and will not recommend them to anyone.
